Don Alberto Harvesting Ayahuasca

This painting shows the visionary ayahuasca vine growing up a tree and ascending up to the sky. This type of ayahuasca is called ‘cielo’ (heaven’s) ayahuasca. This plant is drunk to ascend the psyche from a place of darkness into light. The floating ladder represents that dualistic journey. The rays of light show the ayahuasca’s ability to open psychic vision and to illuminate the beauty of the universe. The sun’s rays are energising the trees heart centre. The colourful flowers are symbolic of its healing energy. Don Alberto is harvesting the vine to brew into a powerful medicine. Don Alberto is the shaman who taught Mimi in the jungle. 100 x 70cm, painted with Acrylics & Gold leaf.

All canvas’s are hand stretched using high quality duck cotton canvas and stretched over exhibition standard pine stretcher bar
